Oh, thanks, wwh. I had forgotten how these oriels looked. During the days in which I read about architecture, 'oriel' was a term that delighted me since I'd seen these in some of the old buildings in Richmond.

You mentioned 'fanlight' on another thread. Now I'm wondering about a third kind of window that I really liked a lot. I believe it was called the 'occulus' and was pretty much a hole in the ceiling that functioned much like the 'glory hole' in the sky.
