I see that the creator of today's word Colonel Blimp was a New Zealander. Are you by any chance familiar with his work?

Well, I'm not Pfranz, but I can say that Low featured prominently in my High School History curriculum - Zild was quite proud of having one of its own sentenced to death in absentia by Herr Schickelgruber.

Well, I am Pfranz, and I don't get below the fold very often. But yes, David Low, who was born and brought up not very far from where I was brought up - a matter of a few streets and several decades apart, in fact, was an early inspiration to New Zealand cartoonists. His style was adopted, almost holus-bolus, by Sid Scales, the Otago Daily Times cartoonist for almost 30 years.

Thought so. (Man, I just love finding out I was right!)
