Well, I saw the purple mood, but as I don't know Mood Indigo, well.. [straight over head e] Although "I'm so lonesome I could cry." rang a bell; wasn't that a song by Willie Nelson or somebody? But, here's something for when the cloud lifts. I have a special fondness for this song: I was probably about 20, when I stayed to help clean up after my aunt-and-uncle's 50th. anniversary party down in Tennessee. My cousin and her husband gave me a ride back to the house, and on the way he sang that song. I hadn't realized before what a genial (ha--his name's Gene!) man he was, and I was so pleased. But I remember being surprised that such an "old man" would know that song--he must have been 45, at the outside!
I Can See Clearly Now
Jonnhy Nash
I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.
I think I can make it now, the pain is gone
All of the bad feelings have disappeared
Here is the rainbow I’ve been prayin’ for
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.
Look all around, there’s nothin’ but blue skies
Look straight ahead, nothin’ but blue skies
I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.
[another straight over head e] I have no idea what reaping and sowing have to do with Halloween.
