that is one the nicest features of word processors! most have a "Drop Cap" option, and you can highlight it and make it any font, any size...

any idiot-- even i, can make a good looking newsletter. start with a drop cap, have word processor put it in columns, ad some lines and insert a line from the text in a larger font, some clip art and voila!
