I love this title, Max!!

eta, we did so a lo-o-o-o-n-g time ago. It's certainly time to do it again. Last time *our little cross-section of society was way ahead of the average of lefties, which isn't a surprise, since we are more creative and intelligent in general.

Having siad that, I'll start.

LEFT

it's been said only those who are left handed are in their right minds!
Two leftie brothers but I am always RIGHT ;-)

double dexterity, (but not ambidexterous!) mostly RIGHT, but many task lefty, and some either hand (so partially ambidexterous!)
-which neatly fits in with my thinking/personality.. not one, not the other, nor both, except sometimes...)

More right than left but I could switch if I needed to. I did learn to use chopsticks with my left.

Grassias. I used it because I'm curious how the Iberians ended up with such a different word for their better half. French and Italian have continued the sinister theme of the Roman imperialist agressors, where did Spanish come up with izquierda?

According to this site
http://www.basque-red.net/eng/euskaeng/ostrowsk.htm
it's from Basque:

Basque ezker „left (part), left hand“ explains Spanish izquierdo „left“ and izquierda „left hand, (political) left“ (see also esquerre in Catalan and Gascon)

I'm mostly right, but can do most things fairly well, if rather slowly, with my left when necessary.

Even further than that notoriously right-wing nationalist, Josef Marionovich Djugashvilli.

But are we writing about the right rite?

I'm with oT, mostly right but hemi-semi-demi left, enough so that when faced with a new task if it seems more convenient I'll learn it with the left hand without a qualm.

Is anybody keeping score? (Indeed, have twenty people replied?) I presume there was at least one among us interested enough to start the thread!

I didn't start the thread, but I did ask about the numbers, so here's what I've got so far:
L R Ambi
3 8 2(both of whom said mostly right)

I'm not very good at math, so somebody better check it...

I don't post often, but read often - so I'll tell you.
Mostly LEFT. Out of four kids, two left and two right. I have learned to do some things right-handed (knitting, making oboe reeds, mousing) but my right-handed writing and eating skills would need some hefty practice to make useful.

Gee, vanguard, if you tried to knit of make reeds with your other hand, would you have to do some lefty practicing? ;-)

Thank, vanguard, for weighing in!! Not at all to slight y'all right-handers, but these sketchy microcosmic results provided by etaoin prove my point. Whatever it was.

vanguard, you make oboe reeds?! We are not worthy.... I always felt if I ever played a wind instrument it'd have to be something reedless. I'm way too much the klutz.

Just to make life a little more interesting. Another thang for us to compare:

thanks, Mr Hand.

The genes underlying handedness might also explain why our brains are asymmetrical. And left-handed or ambidextrous people are more likely to store language in the right side of the brain, are more prone to schizophrenia and , anecdotally, are more often creative or even geniuses.

RIGHT HANDED

Well, ever since the whole "chopped finger" incident anyway. I used to write with my left hand occasionally and do all my calculation (on those office electronic calculators) with my left hand.
