Boy is the world ever changing. So let's show some new words to describe these changes. For example, long before RHCP came up with Californication, I used that term (no, really, I did) to describe the effect that California architecture was having upon Vancouver Island towns (stripmalling, stucco, etc.) thus "the californication of our architecture". My word today reflects the infliction of monster homes and subdivisions upon country towns and other rural areas - rurban - I think best describes what these areas become.

I'm glad to learn that "Californication" does not refer only to the origin of "palimony".

Good word, Wyatt. Would that be a synonym for "exurban"?
Exurban - "A region lying beyond the suburbs of a city, especially one inhabited principally by wealthy people."
Or perhaps "rubanization" is what you've got before you get "exurbanization".
