Newspapers are severely lacking in the creativity dept. these days, and although one could argue that's not thier gig, todays headline (in both Chi-town papers) read "Thanks for the Memories" (jeez... you could see that coming about 50 years ago...) and the sports pages read (for the fifth year in a row) "tour de Lance".
C'mon...

Zackly right. Vincent Canby, who wrote Bob Hope's obit for the NY Times, has been dead for three years.

And, Musick, shame to think that journalism might have become a cliche. [Too lazy this morning to go retrieve the accent--and I don't have that number thing on this laptop, so, believe me, I really have to put forth some effort to retrieve an accent.]
Just off the top of my head, this old editor would have considered:
Lance wins the lot
Lance sticks it out to win no no never mind
or
Hope is eternal
"Yet again, The Yellow rose from Texas"?
Yep but he's probably Guinevere off the road some day. Arthur any doubters?
