I suspect Anu has his reasons for limiting the space here (of course my posts tend to be pithy, anyway, so I hadn't noticed the constraints). How to edit long posts? Shorten them.
Brevity is the soul of wit.
Although sometimes I empathize with Blaise Pascal (1623-1962):
"I have only made this letter longer because I have not had the time to make it shorter."
Yours for more pith,
Hallyx
By the way - how do you spell darndest?
not only darndest and darnedest but also durndest and durnedest!
I'll bear that in mind!
Perhaps your background as a lexicographer (where you a definer?) has conditioned you to be succinct, and that's a desirable goal, but some ideas require more than a pithy aphorism. Confining oneself in this way seems unnecessary and counter-creative.
