OP It jars me disagreeably to see "Koln" for Cologne. Umlauts are a bit of bother, but in this
case it is simply unacceptable to omit the umlaut in Köln. The umlaut was originally a tiny
"e", and in some cases a full sized "e" takes the place of the umlaut. I have never seen
"Koeln" though.
