This old grouch thinks this sentence is preposterously pretentious:

" "A fragrance may be a tool for invigorating the quintessence of what once joined the soul mates, if
the other ingredients are present in the relationship."

A fragrance a tool? Don't cut me with it.
Invigorate a quintessence? Screw the inscrutable?
And what in hell are the ingredients of a relationship?
Eye of newt, wing of bat?

< quintessence (kwin-TES-ens) noun
1. The pure, concentrated essence.
2. Most perfect embodiment of something.
[From Middle French quinte essence, from medieval Latin quinta essentia (fifth essence).] Ancient Greeks referred to the aither of Aristotle as pémpte ousia, the fifth essence.>

I don't see indo-european root here, but Greek word *pempte* sounds similar to russian "pyat'"(transliterated),
means "five". And we also have the word "efir" from aither.

But wwh, if they just said "a fragrance can bring back memories and former emotions" they wouldn't be able to charge nearly as much for the aromatherapy sessions. Faith healing works so much better if you can't understand what the healer is really saying.

Dear Zed: I think we can agree that the babe who wrote that sentence was trying to snow
her readers.
