This word appears (as a noun) as a definition of a word on a certain site of "worthless words" I have seen eye-brightener, but never eyebright. Is it common anywhere, perhaps in some other English-speaking country?

tsuwm got there first, but I was going to say that I know of it as an herbal remedy, for, of all things, eyes. Don't know how it is in terms of efficacy but remember it from working in a health food co-op.
