The comments about bees reminds me of an old Lancaster County {PA} tradition. The most avid participants of corn-husking bees were the young singles. That's because whoever found a colored ear [what we call Indian corn] was suppposed [or allowed] to kiss someone. Of course that was when a kiss meant something special. Wonder what the equivalent "reward" might have to be in these days??

Welcome aBoard, Mr. and/or Ms. Moose. Though I've never been to a work bee (unless spelling is considered work), I've heard of the red-ear-get-a-kiss; same thing for anyone who cut an apple in half without cutting any of the seeds.
