OP Anyone know of any correlation between these two words of such diverse meanings? Just curious!
Dear des: I doubt that there is any connection. The dictionary gives no clue as to origin of "shim" a thin wooden wedge. Shimmy seems to be corruption of chemise, and therefore unrelated. wwh
