"Misogyny" is a hatred of women. What is the word for hatred of men?

Well, there is 'misanthropy' that is 'Hatred of mankind' but, maybe, nobody has felt the necessity of coining a hate-word for such a gentle group as we, men, are.

Andro- is a root word meaning male, so how about misandrony? I don't know if it exists, but it makes sense!

According to Chambers the word is "misandry", from the Greek "misandria—misandros", hating men.

Misandry. Excellent! We have some women at work who don't
get along with ANY men. I've been looking for the
word to describe them. Thanks.

Is that pronounced mis-AN-dree? A person of that ilk would be a misandrist?

Thanks again.

Yes, it's a good word, isn't it! Pronounced MIS-an-dree; and yes, the poor unfortunate person would be a misandrist, again with the accent on the first syllable.

You might add fuel to the fire by making it misandrette or misandrix.
