Thanks, Maahey...it's amazing to me that I've never heard of this strip on these shores. Any other USns know this comic? The only Tintin I know over here is Rin. (as in Rin Tin Tin)

Saw the Tintin strip in newspapers when I was in UK ! Never seen it here in US. Glad to share my 75th birthday year with such a handsome bachelor! Hmmmmmm.

there was(is) an animated TV series that can be seen on US cable. my boys enjoy it when we visit my parents. (we don't have cable...) they've also checked out all the Tin Tin books available at the library. a lot of fun!

I've seen Tintin books here in the US. Never read any of them.

Wow! Can you believe it? Maahey, have no fear, I know who and what you are talking about. Along with Asterix comics, Tintin was my favourite reading for a while there (can't remember how old I was). I think The Secret of the Unicorn was my favourite, but I'm stretching my memory.
  Happy Birthday / Anniversay Tintin!!

Oh I love the Tintin comics, my favorite's the Calculus Affair... or Red Rackam's Treasure as I used to listen to dramatised versions of them on tape during my English-deprived years in China!

I never could stand Tintin. The character, that is, not the books. Self-righteous, wet little twerp. I enjoyed all the other characters, but Tintin himself struck me as a priggish little killjoy. Of course, I only read half a dozen or so, and maybe the character suffered in translation, but.

The other characters certainly made the comic what it is, and Captain Haddock's insults... http://www.quebec3d.com/images/tintin.jpg
