Why is it the simple plus sign (small cross) is deleted from posts on this board and you have to use a "&"? Is this an HTML code glitch general to the web, or exclusive to certain sites?

Okay, Frick Frack, y'all! Here's the post I just made on Q&A before that deleted the plus sign, as usual, and I had to subsitute the "&": >That's exactly the way the word hit me, Jackie. (idea & euphoria) And it gave me a sense the stream of ideas would be of an exciting, positive nature (no negative ideas need apply)<. [EDIT: now why'd it come out between Frick Frack here?]  [Double EDIT: ] Ha! SEE!!! It deleted it again!!!! After the edit. So maybe it deletes the plus sign in the edit.

Wull now ain' that weird. First I look at Juan's Frick + Frack and there's the + just as clear as can be. I Back out and click back in and it's gone.
Edit: Well, my +s were there, lessee do they go away?
Edit again: Nope they still there. Must is something you ate, Juan.

I'll make a note everytime it happens from now on , so mebbe we can figgur it out. I'm using IE...could it be a browser thing? Frick Frack (before edit) Frick Frack (after edit) Yep...it's in the edit...the edit takes the plus sign out, even the new one?????) Faldage, you're using a Mac, right? Maybe could one of the non-Maccers try an edit and see if the plus sign deletes? Wordwind?

Yeah, I went back and edited a couple of typoes, 'cause I caught 'em and knew you'd pick up on suing Mac instead of using Mac, so, yeah, I'll admit I changed that. Glad to see you're showing your true merciless colors, there, Faldo.

Just wondering if the "-" went too. It didn't
I used a program for some time recently and thought that the date entered in the field before a notes field was prone to change erratically. I suddenly noticed, that entering a "-" in the text of the notes took the date back a day. I finally solved it when I realised that writing a "+" took it forward a day. I had some mighty strnage notes before the company improved the software.
