A fur collar, furpiece, not a stole, I don't think? Also, were men's everyday felt hats during these years called anything else but "fedora" or "homburg?" Come to think of it, the wide, colored loops of cloth that we slip over our heads so that they rest on top of our choir robes are called stoles, so maybe a stole is anything along these lines.
