He announced every radio and TV game from 1960 through 2002, except for a brief break last year for heart surgery. Chick Hearn created the phrases no harm, no foul slam dunk air ball which are fundamental to the basketball lexicon. Sparteye, what's your reasoning behind your choice of wording here AND (for extra credit), where did the phrase 'coined a phrase/word/etc.' come from?? (for extra credit), where did the phrase 'coined a phrase/word/etc.' come from?? From wordorigins.com: The verb to coin originally meant to literally mint a coin. It dates to the 14th century. In the late-16th century, the sense generalized to become to create or invent something. In 1940 the specific usage of coin a phrase came into use. Oh goody! I hope that extra credit will get me out of homeroom this week; I have to decorate the gym for the prom. Only 66 more days until hoops start.
