Bloody Hell, you must all be joking! I looked in for the first time in a few weeks, just to see if anything had changed for the better. And what do I find? The same old crap being endlessly recycled ad nauseum. Why not try to forget the nonsense of the past and get back to AWADTalk as it was, if that is indeed what you all want. Forget/ignore Keiva and his postings if they really offend you. I know that is difficult, but what else can you do.
Alas, there seems to be nothing here to tempt me back yet. Good wishes to you all, especially the newer members—don't despair, things will come good in due course. Just ignore the nonsense postings for the time being.

My husband and his friends uses bloody hell a lot, I never have but it is in the 90's where I am right now and I just had a perfectly concocted "Singapore Sling" and I am flaming mad to use the phrase so here goes...
Have you all gone mad? Bloody hell YES!
Wow, did that feel good!

How rapidly sanity would return once we were assured Keiva was gone for good.

Bloody hell! from me, too! You should see what I'm dealing with over here with that chuckling, cackling, giggling wreck of a woman once known as Wordwind!

And may I add, STARK-RAVING MAD !
Oh, it felt good using that phrase, too. It's been awhile. Hey, what's in this "Singapore Sling" anyway? Now I can't stop!
WW, honest to God I have not read your latest post in "Dear Anu" before I posted my post before this one on this thread

Wordwind Sorry if I did not spell your handle right. you don't give a hoot anyway, do you? After all, look where you are!
You crack me up! If laughter is the best medicine, my blood pressure must be down by now and my cholesterol, too. I am forever indebted.

Dear wordcrazy,
Being a psychiatric nurse, I look at your name and see a potentially threatening and revealing couple of syllables there: craz-y!
I must warn you that insanity will wrap its arms around you before you can say "Gesundheit!" (or however you spell a blessing), and, before you know it, they'll be coming to take you away, too.
I'm already entertaining fears that they'll be coming to take me away based on the short amount of time I've spent here. Every now and then I feel a smile creeping across my usually severely frowning face--and a bit of something ebullient begins to bubble up in my belly--and I fear that any second that true indicator of madness (i.e., laughter) will overcome me.
But fie! I shall fight it!
I must return to the being once known as Wordwind, who is going into withdrawal ever since we forced her laptop out from between her hands that clutched it like the looney she is.
Bedlam regards, WW's Nursie

Please may I primly point out, only dogs go mad. We are just extremely angry in a civilized way at a very uncivilized perpetrator of extortion.

WW's Nursie This is once again another example of why health care in this country is going to the dogs! I am really flaming mad that a nurse who is supposed to be watching over a patient (and at a psychiatric ward at that) is spending her time, and a lot of it ,too, posting at AWADtalk. There goes my blood pressure going sky high again!

Dear dodyskin: the only time I ever purposely went out into mid-day sun, was on troopship in WWII, approaching equator. I wanted to get enough of a tan tobe sure that if we were torpedoed, I would not die of sunburn on a liferaft.

Dear IP: there were sinkings close to us we could hear about on radio. It was not the least bit amusing.

Dear Bill:
Nothing amusing about the sinkings. Amusing only that you report going to get a tan so you would not die of one--I misunderstood your intent in reporting it. Apologies.

Dear IP: feigned indignation only. The only thing the tan would have done would have been to enable me to live a day or two extra. Incidentally, after getting a bit of a tan, I fell asleep on hatch cover for almost 30 minutes. When I awoke, I found my shorts had sagged exposing a small bit of dead white skin. I was burned almost third degree. Extrapolating, without tan, on a liferaft I could have had fatal burn in only a little more than a half hour.

No big deal. On Leyte there were still quite a few Jap holdouts. We were waiting for ship to take us up to Luzon, and had no regular duty. So we went looking for souvenirs around perimeter of airport near Tacloban, where there had been a battle, and small bits of equipment had been left behind. I never knew who shot at us. But a couple mornings later there was a lttle guy ahead of me in chowline covered with a black poncho of a type I had never seen before. He had rain hat with rim down so you couldn't see his face. He took tray and held it out to have KP slop some slop on it. KP asked him which slop he wanted, and little guy never said a word. KP, annoyed, reached over and removed the guy's rain hat, and yelled:"My God, it's a Jap!" He was allowed to eat until MPs arrived.
