Hats off to Geoff and milum. Here's what I wrote about them in my morning pages on Saturday, June 8, 2002:

A lot of the old-timers have left - well, two of my favourites remain: milum and Geoff. It's really enchanting to me to see how steadfastly they make positive and cheerful posts - how they turn around the bad. What a sunny and delightful pair of fellows! I think they just might heal the board. Wouldn't that be wonderful....

Edit: having just been down in some other categories and their threads, I want to add wwh to the happy (if still somewhat small) throng....Accentuate the positive!

Edit II: And SilkMuse.

Or, you know, everybody could go on talking about how horrible everything is. Some people seem to prefer that - that's the impression I get, anyway, from seeing the ol' MaxQ thread being added to and not this one.

Reminds me of an expression my mother used with us when we were growing up: If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

Or maybe that's why it's silent here on this thread? That'd be a shame - there are plenty of nice things to say about those who remain, and about the dear departed.

Go on, I dares ya: Post something nice here about someone, anyone, who has been or is now visiting this board.

Then listen to your mother and don't say anything at all. In fact just go away. That would be nice.

Hm, I smell another old Board member, come back to gripe and be nasty. Crawl back under your rock, old-timer.

In the spirit of this thread, I'd like to say how much I'm enjoying Robert Payne's presence here. He's started a really enjoyable discussion of word games in another section (damn, can't remember which one!). I like these people who contribute so positively to the board. They're gems!

i said it private, and i'll say it public.
No one is perfect.. some months ago, when ModessGodess joined us, in the middle of a flame war, she took sides.. for the past ten days, 2 weeks, she has been making word post, and keeping out of the fray.

she is not the problem here... we know who the problem is..

so if you have something specific to say about her behavior, say it, but its not fair to keep harping on her past mistakes.. in fact to do so, makes you just like this other guy who posts here, who is obnoxious, and unwelcome.

there is no rule about making objects-- and i'm here i am objecting! I have objected in the past, both privately, and publicly to MG, and will object again, to anyone, but i think its very unfair to single her out right now, when she hasn't provoked it.

she has tried to 1) be possitive, (something i have trouble managing) and 2) make word posts, (that, like Dr Bills and mine are ignored, or subverted into chatty, gossipy, sex talk.) enough. there are real problems here. they are hard enought to fix, with out making new ones.

Crawl back under your rock, old-timer.

Seems you've crawled out from under yours and come back to plague the board again. Funny how you returned just when Keiva destroyed it. What a coincidence.

No ma'am.

ModGod posts under her own name, and she's generally positive.
You lurk in an anonymous name (or several), and you're consistently bitter and disruptive.

No comparison.

of troy, I just want to say, I have truly enjoyed some of your recent posts. You do seem to have a knack for coming up with some obscure information about topics I never would have considered interesting. Thank you!

of troy, I love you! You got tubes.

You do what it is sometimes very hard to do: you recognize that people are constantly changing.

In an art class I was working for, the instructor told the students that they had to try to get inside my skin, and that meant getting to know me. One student said, "I think I know Mary pretty well...." and the instructor said, "No, you don't - you don't know her at all. You have to get to know her each time she comes here - the same with all the other models. Nobody is the same each time we see them - whether we last saw them 20 minutes ago, or 20 years ago. People are always changing, whether in small ways or big ways."

That made soooo much sense to me - especially as I seem to be at a phase in my life in which I'm doing a LOT of changing/growing. I love it - it's fascinating.

And I love of troy for recognizing and defending that in me. Thank you Helen - you gave me such a warm fuzzy!

Did you copy and paste this quote from somebody else? It could easily be applied to a humorless git like you. And I don't think ModestGoddess or ModGod is her real name. Tut, tut, Keiva babes. Get your facts right. You're losing your touch. Next thing you'll be losing your licence to practice law. Or hasn't that happened already?

Funny. You seem to think that I am female. Why would that be? Have we a little grudge against someone for a reason?

Is there a reasoned point in anything you just said, "equalizer"?

My, my Keiva. Run out of smart-assed words for replies? Sing us a song, won't you? All your replies seem to be inane, thoroughly pointless lyrics and stupid poems.

equal or unbalanced?

I'm equal. I'm very sure we all know that you're unbalanced, even if you don't realize it yourself.
