This series looks pricipally at English around the world. You are quite right Bill. I have clearly internalised the play on words in the title, I'll change it to avoid confusion. The links work fine from here, so it may be a local problem. An alternative way in is through the http://www.bbc.com or http://www.bbc.co.uk site (same site, different address) and use their search engine if you can get that far. While browsing around, I found a very extensive list of unusual words. Very short definitions, no etymology (sob,sob). http://phrontistery.50megs.com/p.html URL as given brings up words starting with "p". Only way I could get other letters was by changing the "p" at end of URL to "a" or whatever. Much, much longer than wwftd. P.S. I went back, and discovered that there is no text, only spoken presentation, which I can hear butcannot comprehend.
