Hey wordsters,
As the thread title suggests...I want an ambiguous word that expresses trepedation and excitememt at future prospects. Cheers for all help!
anxiety, fear, apprehension, tense desire, butterfly

Hmmmn. you must mean "fear and trembling." Can't do better than that.
How about the phrase butterflies in ones stomach? Luke hinted at it, but let's lay it out in full.
A-tremble? [half stealing from Miss A] If you're looking for one single word, that is. The phrase on pins and needles comes to mind. Welcome.
