Is there a word or term for metaphors where natural objects/phenomenon are employed to describe non-natural or artificial subjects?
i.e. "The Cloud" used to describe the Internet?
Metanthropomorphism? Sorry, I couldn't resist! Welcome, in spite of my silly response.
If Silva Rhetoricae is to be believed it sounds like metalepsis.
