OP We recently visited Hawaii where we saw a mongoose running around the country side. Actually we saw bunches and bunches of them, which leads to my question: What is the plural of mongoose? mongooses? mongeese? mongoose?
I would use mongooses. The word is unrelated to English goose.
Ceci n'est pas un seing.
OP Sounds good to me! Thanks.
My brain says Mongooses is correct but my ears think it sounds odd.
Hey, how come Nan's first post (Hi Nan) said 2 posts and then she posted again and it still said 2 posts.
I don't really expect an answer but I'm tired and that is as deep as my thinking goes at the moment. Maybe I should go to bed instead of AWADing
Nice to see you Zed. I think you must have been tired indeed.
I think Nan made two posts total. The topic opener was the first and the second post was the second. Is the counting system gives
the total of your posts. So when she did her (/his-who knows?) first post it said 1. After the second it said 2. I understand the confusion. I have these wonderfully intelligent moments too.

Yes, is it mon goose, ton goose or notre goose?
