Is there any name given to phenomenon of the people who 'remember' information to get any degree such as a law degree?
There was a literary prize winner from west (east?) Africa who was that way. I have heard of others as well.
They get their information from "somewhere".
I heard of one person from Santa Cruz, CA who got law degrees, engineering certifications, etc. just by taking the exams. This particular person created Quantum Touch. He had a stack of various certifications, but was bored by it all. He said he just went quiet inside and the answers "came". No studying.
They pass any test just by taking it.

"Prodigious savants" resembles the general area. But it's not very specific. Still, "prodigious savants" will provide a fascinating exploration. Thanks!

I'd go for eidetics, but maybe I'm not fully getting the slant of your question. Welcome to you!

Well Jackie, let me be a bit more explicit.
The founder of Quantum Touch (of which I am not affiliated), Robb Rassmussen, had this strange gift. He seemed to pull answers "out of the air". This was not eidetic (vivid imagery), but the solution to sometimes complicated problems of which he had no previous training. He never studied law or engineering. He passed the bar exam by simply taking the examination. He obtained various engineering certifications by completing the examinations.
He was quite bored with the certifications he obtained and apparently never used them.
While I cannot find an online reference to this phenomenon, Richard Gordon's book "Quantum Touch" describes this skill in the introduction to his book about this man who discovered Quantum Touch.

Ok, I've got it now. Hmm--does he by any chance have the same brain anomaly that Einstein did, I wonder? Sorry, I'm out of ideas for descriptors. I had thought perhaps you meant that the person had read something in a casual way ages ago and could still recall it. Oh--I thesaurused genius, and none of the usual terms fit this specifically. I might go with adept (as a noun).
