hi i recently encountered the word "PRESCRIPTIVE" in the dictionary..
one meaning was "telling people how a language should be used rather than describing its usage"
could it also be used in case of an instruction to do a chores without describing how it is to be done?

Hmm. When a doctor writes a prescription for medicine it always includes instructions for use.

could it also be used in case of an instruction to do a chores without describing how it is to be done? Only if the chore is part of a larger task, and thus prescribes how that task is to be executed.
