Only one of the films was subtitled and in it I spotted a reference to a "country pumpkin". The vines tended to climb the chain-link fence, and it did look odd to see pumpkins growing above the ground like that. (Oh golly--I first typed 'growning' above the ground! Possibly more appropriate, homonymically?)
