well to start, there is hairless.. (as in hairless dogs, hairless cats, hairless mole rats)

is there a more more scientific word? there is a medical term (ap????)(i know it when i see, but i can't remember it right now for the life of me!) that defined medical hair loss, (as a side effect of chemo therapy, or unexplained hair loss)

Genesis 27:11 (KJV):

 Quote:
And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man, and I am a smooth man:

These days I only see or hear smooth, in relation to absence of hair, in commercials touting the effectiveness of a shaving or hair removal product.

I beg to differ on this one, Anna and of troy. Alopecia is the loss of hair, not the state of being hairless. The opposite of alopecia would be a word meaning the unexplained gaining of hair, which is not the definition of hirsute. This is why I didn't put it on my list.
