I thought the word "Bromide" meant a photographic plate/positive print used for printing on photopaper!

This is correct, too - but here it's yet another salt of hydrobromic acid, namely silver bromide, the main light-sensitive ingredient of classical photographic films, plates and paper. Before the advent of digital photography, artists didn't need to specify it, but now those who stick to the old technology generally do.
