Hello to everyone here!

Is wordsmith saying that the adjective quaggy derives from the river? And if so, is this also the root for quagmire. Did a search for the etymology of quagmire which didn't show much.

Very nice place, although the details for posting are somewhat confusing. As is 'search forum'. Also, I don't know that the ladybird avatar will show up when I post; but, if it does - did I snitch someone else's avatar from the list or is it ok to have the little fella on. Apologies if the former.

So the ladybird didnt show up, after all! :-(
