It's not very funny, but there's a poem that John Denver used to do called "The Box," by Lascelles, which I used to recite on the speech and debate team in high school. Jessica Tandy and Hume Cronyn did performance poetry - really good - recited love poems to each other - could bring tears to your eyes.
