milum,

How cool that you and your granddaughter create verse together!

Helen,

We perform your bear song here in kindergarten classes, and our version, which is sung, goes like this:

There were five in the bed and the little one said,
"Roll over! Roll over!"

They all rolled over and one fell out;
He hit the ground and began to shout:

"Please remember! To tie a knot in your pajamas!
Single beds are not for one.."

There were four in the bed and the little one said,
"Roll over! Roll over!"

They all rolled over and one fell out.
He hit the ground and began to shout:

"Please remember! To tie a knot in your pajamas.
Single beds are not for one!"

[This continues till there's one in the bed]

There was one in the bed and the little one said: [sudden change in melody]

"I've got the whole bed to myself!" [to the tune of 'He's Got the Whole World in His Hands']
I've got the whole bed to myself!
I've got the whole bed to myself!
I've got the whole bed to myself!"
