I've been working on the premise that, as we've been playing, "you may" means "your choices are," not "you have permission to (but you can do something else if you want)."

But the point is moot, really. If anagrams are permitted, then ORBITALS became STROBILA became LABORIST, and it's your turn, though the letters are the same. If anagrams are disallowed, the working letters are still ORBITALS and you get another shot at it, if you want.

PS. Actually I raised this same question last October when the game was first started. Here's what Coffeebean, the originator, posted on the subject way back then:

...not too hung up on ROOLZ. The simpler the better. Ah, what I had in mind was to scramble AND / OR add or delete a letter.

That being said, if we want to be a little more laid-back and do anagrams too, it really won't hurt anything. smile They're very tempting when you find a good one! (See TOTALISER <--> ARISTOTLE.)
