OP while doing some research for a neologisms theme I came across the term 'dentapedalogy', the science (or art) of opening your mouth and putting your foot in, ostensibly coined by Prince Philip (a prime practitioner). I find nearly as many google-hits (180) for dontapedalogy as for the denta- form (190gh).
neither form is all that linguistically satisfying -- some wag suggested that orpatopedalogy would be better.
