Needless to say, the CIA of Dulles and the FBI of J. Edgar were two organizations that were antagonistic of one another, and the CIA thought of itself as more humanistically edumacated, while the G-men went in for professional degrees. FBI agents wore hats and blue suits, and the CIA tended towards tweed coats with leather patches at the elbows and smoking pipes. I'm talking about cultural stereotypes not reality here.
