Even in English I don't understand what I'm saying sometimes.

Even in English I don't understand what I'm saying sometimes. Zed, we have got to be related!

Reiner Zufall died a tragic death when the entire set of the OED fell out of a window and flattened him. Then his friend happened along and, failing to appreciate the gravity of the situation, asked, "What happened, Reiner? Zu fall?"

I realize this may not be a piece of Macedonian cake to answer, but I'm curious -- do we know the origin of the Finnish language? Is it related to Gaelic?

Ummmm, would you say that Reiner Zufall was at a loss for words?

Giving, of course, the ultimate lie to that old saying: "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me".

Is it related to Gaelic?

Nope. Finnish is part of the Finno-Ugric family (cf. the GVM unpleasantness ). Gaelic, and for that matter, Macedonian, are both members of the Indo-European family: Gaelic stems from the Celtic branch and Macedonian from the (South) Slavic branch.

"Glad to see you fixed up your faex pas."

I was hoping to get there before you did.

In case anyone is wondering, "Reiner Zufall" means "pure coincidence".
