OK. I checked this out with the Hogmaster. I think this word will work.

Gemebund

This is a pre-Halloween word. If you already know the definition of it, you can still play: submit daffinitions to Wordwind via PM and just vote on another creative daffinition, even your own.

If you don't know the definition of gemebund, then so much the better. It's an adjective, by the way.

I'll take daffinitions through next Sunday night, and then we'll play. If anybody else comes up with a creepy/crawly word you'd like to officiate over after this round, please step in. If not, I'll keep looking around for good October words.

Best reghouls,
WoooooooooWind

Adjective!!! Why don't'cha just give us the definition, too, Dub-Dub, so we have something to work with? If I can't 'noun it', I ain't playin'!

What do you mean by "adjective"? If you are actually revealing what part of speech it is, no fair! If you are whingeing because it sounds like an adjective, boohoo to you too.

Uh, sjm...I was reacting to this in WW's introductory post:

If you don't know the definition of gemebund, then so much the better. It's an adjective, by the way.

And, hey! I verbed noun! "if I can't 'noun it'!"...

SHEESH, talk about being unreasonable! How in the name of all that's holy can I possibly be expected to read posts before leaping to contusions?!

Well, if your legs and feet grow out of the top of your head, then that could be an ongoing problem, but...

The real pity is that, for only the third time, I had crafted an entry and submitted it. My entry, however, was a noun, so our Hogmistress's helpful gesture has already knocked me out of the running.

Listen, I messed up. I set it up as an adjective erroneously. But now the cat's out of the bag.

Still, it's a pretty easy operation to make up definitions in adjective form. Let's just say this is a somewhat restrictive version of Hogwash. A more refined version. A variation on a theme type of Hogwash. Thinking outside of the box where all creepy/crawly October adjectives or would-be adjectives lie.

I mean, it could have been worse. I could have written that gemebund is an interjection, or, even worse, a conjunction.

Best regards,
WW

P.S. Two really good definitions came in last night. sjm, just give it another whirl. If you're not too cast down, that is. October adjectives may line their little selves up in your imagination like brown corn stalks in a row out there in the cooling fields.
