For a different concept of "a word a day", see the April 1 comic strip at
http://www.unitedmedia.com/comics/peanuts/archive/peanuts-20020401.html

and continue forward for the next few days.

[Future readers: since this link contains only recent items, the April 1 one will no longer be available after this month.]

A common theme, word-usage in argument, ran through three strips today. There must be some sort of lesson here. (separate colors below indicate separate speakers):

Your friend looked kind of depressed.
--EX-friend! No stupid bird is going to tell me how to read "War and Peace"! Just because he couldn't follow the story he got mad! I can't help it if he came along when I was already up to the fifth word!
It's a shame to spoil such a good friendship.
--I say let him flock with birds of his own feather!

Two toddlers arguing:
pfffftttt! pfffftttt! pfffftttt! pfffftttt! pfffftttt! pfffftttt! pfffftttt! pfffftttt!
I'm glad we had this discussion.

==============================================================================

Two adults arguing:
Lamebrain! Idiot! Nitwit! Numbskull! Cretin! Moron! Featherbrain! Cretin!
[pause as they consult book] Wathog! Dim bulb!
Onlooker: You know it'll be a lengthy argument when they have to get out the thesaurus!

... link contains only recent items ...

Just how far back are archives available? "Wofahulicodoc" derives from an old Peanuts strip and I'd love to find it again, but it goes way back to the Spring of 1961 or '62 or so...

wofa, the Peanuts strip is being recycled, and these particular strips were re-published within the last few days.

The site noted above gives only the last 30 days of publications. I don't know if any longer-term archives are available.

Dear Hev,

Thanks!

Bone regards,
DubDog Where to find a copy of War and peace? I think a syllable a day would be a lot to think about...
