Which is just what I'm off to do.
Back at my desk on 20th Sept - I guess I'll have to take a whole day of the bosses time to catch up on a week's supply of awad posts.
Look after yourselves, everyone, see you when I get back

Yeah, I can relate to that!
The only difference is that I'll be after the Red Ned, not Madeira. I have just checked in after a short absence and find nearly 200 posts to check out. How can I cope?
Ah well, we do our best, I guess,
sakezuki lusy ( I think that's it)

Jackie, you may be missing out on a cultural reference here. Michael Flanders and Donald Swann were very successful stage performers in the UK. Their act consisted of light-hearted chatter punctuated by witty songs, or witty chatter punctuated by light-hearted songs, if you prefer. See http://timothyplatypus.tripod.com/FaS/ for more details. Particularly Madeira M'Dear and the Gnu Song. Thank you. I have now looked them up on the web and found this site I would otherwise never have known about!

Thanks, Bridget-- I bet I would have really liked them. Psst--don't tell tsuwm, but there was a Pythonlink, and I snuck a peek. I may just have to learn what M.P. is all about if I expect to get half his ref's!

Thanks, Bridget. My wife and I were lucky enough to attend one of their Melbourne performances many years ago. A night to remember! Donald Swann played piano and sang, and Michael Flanders (who was wheelchair bound) narrated and sang. Many of their songs are 'classics' especially a very poignant one about all the little country railway stations in England which had been closed down. A treasury of wonderful English placenames.
