catching up today-- and as i moved through threads, i kept tripping over cultural landmarks i.e., Monty Python-- the show and the movies
British Sitcoms -------Yes Minister -------Are You Being Served? -------Eastenders -------Keeping Up Appearence -------Others?
Lord of the Rings
Robert Heinlein (complete works)
Science geology, in particular, chemistry (mainly periodic table, or physical elements of chemitry) Physics (and meta physics, especially perpetual motion machine made from cats an chicken Tika Masala) computers and or Math
alcohol (yeah, it should be part of chemisty, but it stands on its own)
travel
bodily functions and parts (electric Jugs anyone?)
there is half hearted effort at sports,
but it doesn't hold a candle to Food
and the funnies posts always involve animals (CK is one reason for that-- he seems to have been born with an urban heart deep in the county-- how else could you explain his adventures with sheep!)
Oh, yeah, and an interest in the specific vocabularies used by all these topics!

Kulcha--ah, yes. I have learned so very much here that I had never known or dreamed of, from all you fine people--the most recent undreamed-of one was jibbing a dong--or something like that. (HI, F-babe! Good to see you back--and you, too, ladymoon! ) I have learned that there is just something about New Zealanders...and Aussies, too, but in a different way. I have learned some of the weird names that Brit-speakers have for things... Just an amazing experience, all the way around. Thank you all!

Dear lady, that has got to be one of the most enigmatic and potentially inflammatory statements ever posted on this Board. Would you care to explain, just a teensy-weensy little bit about what you mean?

[dangerous-glint-in-eye-while-loading-army-surplus-M16 -e] I knew you'd like that, CK! I see that you perceived my intent perfectly. (Sorry, musick, for trespassing on your "Enigmatic and potentially inflammatory" gig. I'll back out of it now.) My Dear CK, I only meant that you-all have that...je ne sais quoi... <EG> ===========================================================
Not even I had ever dreamed of that one![whistle-e]Sailing, sailing, over the ocean blue...... Hee, hee! [satisfied grin e]
