Loc: Humboldt County, northern Cali... What about those words that we made up or borrowed from popular media and were once part of our lexicon? Like pakaloomer and brackerfritch. Did any survive? I used them on the east coast in the '60s. Did they make it to the west coast? Many were coined by MAD magazine's early contributors, before it's descent into mediocrity and blandness. Then there were the Pogo and Li'l Abner words and names. There must be some remnants somewhere!??!

Posts: 81 Oh this side of the pond the satrical magazine Private Eye has introduced several new euphamisms into common use. tired and emotional for drunk and discussing ugandan affairs for sex are a couple of the best known. From another thread the Eye's E.J. Thribb (17 1/2) has been writting the most awful poetry for the last 20 years or more.
