Loc: West Sussex, UK I noticed with disappointment, that fewer, if many at all, people from the UK, than from the North American or Australian continents, seem to be sufficiently interested in our great shared language to contribute to this website's valuable efforts in celebrating its richness.
Is my pessimism misplaced? I do hope so.
Does anyone have any comment?
Sam

Loc: Lower Aberdeen, Mississippi SamDottore; I think most Brits are, for some unfathomable cultural reason, very private folks. And many others there are pseudo-intellectual snobs.
But as for the .000000003 percent who are English and post on Awad; they are the best of England and they are the very salt upon God's green Earth.

Loc: this too shall pass as to these forums, there were once several Brits who contributed mightily here; but they pretty much all decamped during some previous unpleasantness, yonks ago, although Rhuby has come back to be a regular poster and maverick returned recently for a brief spell - can't say why none seem to have joined of late.

Loc: Lancaster, UK As a significant fraction of the .000000003 percent, may I lift my hat to you and say, "Thank you, jj, for your kind words!"
And tsuwm has it right. I'm also not sure why this forum doesn't appeal much to other Limeys. This is, of course, from its very nature and origins, a very American place and we Brits are a rather insular race, Might be something to do with living on an island, despite one of our own, major poets declaring, roundly, that, "No man is an island, entire of himself ..." Well; what's done is Donne, I guess._________________________
