At last ... the missing verse from "A Salty Dog" by Procol Harum!  Worth listening to!Your limerick makes as much sense! Actually, they did this at Cropredy about eight years ago. Brought tears to my eyes. But I love this version of it, done with a choir and the Danish National Concert Orchestra somewhere in Denmark a couple of years ago.

I don't know, Luke. I think Trombone is slipping a deeper meaning into his well-crafted Limerick that almost passed over my head. Think about the alternate meanings of flux, evading time, era, and apricot. See? Something is being said here that is lost with only a cursory reading. Now rethink his ominous final line..."no hits, no runs, and no more eras"  .
