Here are the daffynitions for the Hogwash round...there is, as always, one true definition and lots of wonderful not true definitions...have fun finding it and thank you all for waiting a whole week for this to be posted... smile

A Kibitka - an indigenous North American card game which often attracts many spectators, due to the vocal and sometimes physical nature of the play

B Kibitka - Javanese wraparound baby sling, made of a length of batik which is secured by a knot in a sash style position

C Kibitka – a type of Russian hooded sled often used as a movable habitation

D Kibitka - One of the many diminishing native languages spoken by residents in a quiet corner of the Kamchatka Peninsula, in the Russian Far East.

E Kibitka - n female ceremonial headwear on the occasion of wedding in the Belarusian tradition

F Kibitka - the first dog (if a female) born in a litter of sled dogs (Inuit)

G Kibitka - a Polish sausage made from a mixture of goat meat and pork, flavoured with garlic, sage, fennel, and basil.

H Kibitka - n a specialised Inuit knife with a curved blade

I Kibitka - an island in the North Pacific Ocean, westernmost of the Aleutian chain, 250 km (155 mi) off the Kamchatka Peninsula. Still under Russian sovereignty.

J Kibitka - colloquial term for "nice lady", comes from Polish kobitka: "nice woman", long o changing into short i in order to follow original stress pattern in which the second syllable is stressed.

Happy Hunting!

I think elifit has entered the J....there seems to be a lot of 'inside information' in that daff.

I'm still considering the options....

This certainly is a (un)clear focus on Mid-Europe and Russia.
I love to hesitate a while longer, they are quite attractive.

(Hence F?)

i'm gonna take B because the other nine are all armils. (And don't you dare tell me that the armil theorem has now suffered two consecutive counterexamples!)

Snowing here again. 80 degrees in Laguna Beach. Sigh. This too shall pass. And Aunt Lee is 90 years old today, having survived Sunday's family gathering.

Inuit or not, A for me, just because I want some more precise information about the vocal and sometimes physical nature of this so-called cardgame. Whoever was the composer. grin

I vote C, if, for no other reason then, a perverse desire to view such habitations.

I'm liking one of the Russian meanings now......cause I'm singing that Elton John song, Nikita which is similar in sound to Kibitka.
I think it was set in the Russian occupied side of Germany around the time of the Cold War.

so, you like J, and you like H; I'm afraid the rules of the game (such as they are) suggest that you choose one!

Could be worse, we all could be getting younger and have to relive of all again.

Or be like the Tolkien Elves: immortal. Legolas is
2983, for instance, at the time of the return of the King.

it comes down to C or H for me (I can explain more fully in the rehash), but I've applied Occam's curved blade to eliminate H - so [C] it is.
