The subject line of my post, Haar she blows was a play on the stereotypical whaler cry upon spying a surfacing and exhaling whale, "Thar she blows!"

Pffff...jemig, how did you ever find that word? It's in quite a lot of Onelook dictionaries. A fog! All the definitions seemed false including the real one. smile As good as they were though.
/* */ Dict. Thesaurus: Earth Sciences / Physical Geography) Eastern Brit a cold sea mist or fog off the North Sea
[related to Dutch dialect harig damp]( very unlikely )
Thanks Faldage, it's been a pleasure.

Yep, thanks, Faldage, for a real haard-to-guess one. And thanks, beck, for your vote. I am sorry: this word just made me grin every time I looked at it, so I submitted the first daffynition I could think of!

Thanks for your vote Jenny, if indeed there are two of you, which
ever one of you voted for my daffynition, the giant hare of
the Botswana border.

Oh yay! I won one. Of course I fooled myself before fooling anyone else. I posted thinking that was the right answer, and bit ef saab's head off for tweaking my grammar. Thanks for a fun game.

It's gratifying to get a couple of votes. I seems I'm still at least partially full of it.

Great round of smart silliness, Thanks.

Olly, I guess we could lie to each other indefinitely and never be the wiser.

Branshea, olly, buffy, luke - one two three four
[Stepping off the stand]
For one nanosecond the world looked good from up there. Now it's back to eye level. Still I've never even mistakenly won anything.
Congratulations obie.
F saab, YOU tweaked my grammar AND you counted wrong!

Thanks for the notice. I've never won anything either.
Some have shelves of trophies, seemingly won without effort,
and I despair. Still having folks here who notice is worth a lot.

Yes, Luke voted for B in stead of voting for L which of course I have strongly advised him grin . I loved Owlbow's complicated definition with words like prong and trammel which I don't know what it means anyway. All those twist just to put the kettle on. Nice!

Yup. I neglected to record Luke's and Buffy's votes in the Official Scorebook. Avy and olly tied for FYBR. So you still won something, Avy.

And Bran's advice has the force of dogma.

Being a dog person myself, I hope I'm not CAT-a-anything, ever.
Even occasionally. DOG-matic, maybe; often DOG-eared, for sure.
