The daffynitions:
A. A giant rabbit or hare found along the Botswana border in northern South Africa. From the Afrikaans
B. A shelf-like outcropping of rock on the side of a cliff. A common nesting place for birds.
C. In Dutch heraldry, the pattern of two parallel, horizontal bars across the field of a shield.
D. A right angle prong of the long hook that fits into the holes of the trammel bar, a component of a trammel hook, a device for raising and lowering a kettle in a fireplace.
E. A fog; a chill easterly wind accompanied by light fog.
F. A dream guide of the Senoi tribe of the Malay Peninsula. Also known as "halaks" the haars gather each morning to integrate their nightly dreams into Senoi culture. The Senoi people have not had a violent crime in several hundred years.
G. A Swedish wig
H. A period of gigantism in animals on the Pacific island of Hoor'n, first discovered in human remains and later seen in all animals of the island. This period is referred to as the Haar Event.
I. The first thin film of ice that forms on the canals of Holland in the early winter.
J. A dried rhizome and root of a medicinal herb, or a powder or extract of such, used by the ancient Greeks and Romans in treating mental and other disorders
K. A garland. From the Hindi.
L. A type of herb seed added to enhance the flavor of harissa, a Tunisian mixed pepper paste
M. A male hair style of the 16th to 18th centuries that mimicked the style in which men's wigs were arranged.
The perps are, in alphabetical order:
Avy, beck123, BranShea, Coffeebean, Jackie, jenny, jenny*, Lukejavan8, olly, Owlbow, some dictionary or other, tsuwm, and wofahulicodoc.
*Each jenny gave her own daffynition. Their votes will be scored separately.

just reply to Faldo's post with your guess, by letter. you may also comment, but it's considered bad form to comment in such a way as to unduly influence others; but you many vote for your own daffynition as a bluff - but realize that's been shown to be (usually) a wasted vote, as it won't be counted for you.
also, if you actually know the word, you might consider voting for a well-formed bluff rather than the "right" answer. since the points don't matter.

Yeah, me too, I like M for the sheer audacity of giving a name to a haircut imitating a wig, BUT it seems haarly unlikely that that name would be "haar".
Why did Faldage begin this game with "Haar she blows"? Is he a trickster? Faldo (as tsuwm calls him) is the key.
Don't record my vote yet, I'm still thinking...

Haaaaa.... .. r I had a fit of laughter over this wild collection. Faldage, are you sure you also put in the right one? I'll need some time to analyze this.

"The answer my friend is blowing in the wind." There's a lot of trickiness in here this time.

Say Mister Faldage, (hypothetically speaking), if I vote for Jenny's definition and she votes for mine, will I get one or two points in the Hogwash scoring?
Just curious. - Jenny

scoring is at the whim of the hogmaster©. but, the points don't matter.
OTOH, if this sort of thing is important to you, read the frakkin' rules.

You get some number of points for guessing the true definition. You get a certain number of points for every time your daffynition is chosen by someone else. We total up the points at the end and the person getting the most points has the most points.
@jenny jenny: I'm afraid I'm going to have to say that if one of you votes for the other's daffynition nobody gets any points since I don't have any way to tell which of you submitted which daffynition. For a while I thought that it wouldn't make a difference but I'm not sure if that's the case. We'll see what happens if that scenario plays out.

The polls are still open. All the principals have voted except one. All other votes are welcome. You don't need to have entered to vote.

OK. Now it's one principal. I know you know the right answer, tsuwm. Are you just trying to figure out which one is the best from the wrong answers?

Mister Faldage please tell Mister tsuwm that in Mississippi the sennight will expire today at the stroke of noon. He may be abiding by an archaic sennight of only sentimental value that has since been shortened by the dire needs of our fast moving world. Thank you.

I'm inclined to use Ockham's Razor here (however it's spelt) and/or follow wofa or Alex and vote for K or E. but I still have two(2) days. (I know, the wig one is even shorter; but I'm not buying anything to do with hair.)
