But seriously, folks. Atherosclerosis emphasizes the material that clogs the vessels, a whitish, cheesy stuff officially called "atheroma." Arteriosclerosis emphasizes the place where the clog is, namely the arteries. As commonly used, there's a huge overlap between the two conditions.
