the history of this is nearly lost in the mists of time (i.e., it's somewhat of an inside joke), but you can find the hazy vestiges by slogging through this brume: link (the crux of it is that the hogwash word armil produced a lot of def'ns based on armadillos and such like, and as a result I instituted the memorial armilŪ awards)

as for my link, huh.
it was to the results page on a board search for armil, which in addition to Faldo's link also had links to follow-ons such as the thread where subsequent armil awards where announced. so, if you really have an interest, you can click on the forum search (in the blue shaded header) and plug the word 'armil' into the little pop-up window and see the same results (oldest listed last).
edit: not everyone has blue headers!
