The Candy Man
Who can take a sunrise (who can take a sunrise) Sprinkle it with dew (sprinkle it with dew) Cover it with choc'late and a miracle or two The Candy Man (the Candy Man) Oh, the Candy Man can (the Candy Man can) The Candy Man can 'Cause he mixes it with love And makes the world taste good (Makes the world taste good)

So we waved our hands as we marched along and the people smiled as we sang our song and the world was saved as they listened to the band. and the Banner-Man held the banner high
he was ten feet tall and he touched the sky and I wish that I could be a Banner-Man.
Glory Glory Glory
listen to the band. Sing the same old story ain't it something grand
to be good as you can like a Banner-Man !
And the drums went Boom as the cornets play and the tuba "umpa''d" all the way and the kids and the dogs were laughing as they ran. And the Banner-Man held the banner high with an Allelujah in his eye and I wish that I could be a Banner-Man.
Glory Glory Glory...
So we reached the square on the top of the hill and the music stopped and we stood still and a few were saved and the people said Amen . Then we all got up and we formed a queue and the drums went BANG as the trumpets blew and we marched back down into the town again

Now I've heard there was a secret chord That David played, and it pleased the Lord But you don't really care for music , do you? It goes like this The fourth, the fifth The minor fall, the major lift The baffled king composing Hallelujah
Your faith was strong but you needed proof You saw her bathing on the roof Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you She tied you To a kitchen chair She broke your throne, and she cut your hair And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah
You say I took the name in vain I don't even know the name But if I did, well really, what's it to you? There's a blaze of light In every word It doesn't matter which you heard The holy or the broken Hallelujah
I did my best, it wasn't much I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you And even though It all went wrong I'll stand before the Lord of Song With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah

I saw the light on the night that I passed by her window I saw the flickering shadows of love on her blind
She was my woman As she deceived me I watched and went out of my mind
My, my, my, Delilah Why, why, why, Delilah I could see that girl was no good for me But I was lost like a slave that no man could free

(hey!) Wasn’t it yesterday We used to laugh at the wind behind us? Didn’t we run away and hope That time wouldn’t try to find us (didn’t we run) Didn’t we take each other To a place where no one’s ever been? Yeah, I really need you near me tonight ’cause you’ll never take me there again Let me watch you go With the sun in my eyes We’ve seen how love can grow Now we’ll see {for Connie} how it dies If I’ve got to be strong Don’t you know I need to have tonight when you’re gone? ’till you go I need to hold you until the time Your hands reach out and touch me in the morning (mornings where blue and gold and we could feel one another living) Then just walk away (we walked with a dream to hold and we could take what the world was giving) We don’t have tomorrow, (there’s no tomorrow here, there’s only love and the time to chase it) But we had yesterday (but yesterday’s gone my love, there’s only now and it’s time to face it) Touch me in the morning... Lyrics: Ron Miller/Michael Masser Artist: Diana Ross More about these lyrics at: WkiConnie - you must have sneaked through a whole in cyberspace while I was still composing ... probably because I spent so long decided what to cut. Anyway, I'll see you with a see. Jx

Tomorrow The sun'll come out Tomorrow Bet your bottom dollar That tomorrow There'll be sun!
Just thinkin' about Tomorrow Clears away the cobwebs, And the sorrow 'Til there's none!
When I'm stuck a day That's gray, And lonely, I just stick out my chin And Grin, And Say, Oh!
The sun'll come out Tomorrow So ya gotta hang on 'Til tomorrow Come what may Tomorrow! Tomorrow! I love ya Tomorrow! You're always A day Away!

When there are grey skies I don't mind the grey skies. You make them blue, Sonny Boy. Friends may forsake me, let them all forsake me. You pull me thru, Sonny Boy. You're sent from heaven and I know your worth. You made a heaven for me right here on the earth. When I'm old and grey, dear, promise you won't stray, dear, for I love you, Sonny Boy.

Since I still appreciate you, Let's find love while we may. Because I know I'll hate you When you are old and gray. So say you love me here and now, I'll make the most of that. Say you love and trust me, For I know you'll disgust me When you're old and getting fat. An awful debility, A lessened utility, A loss of mobility Is a strong possibility. In all probability I'll lose my virility And you your fertility And desirability, And this liability Of total sterility Will lead to hostility And a sense of futility, So let's act with agility While we still have facility, For we'll soon reach senility And lose the ability. Your teeth will start to go, dear, Your waist will start to spread. In twenty years or so, dear, I'll wish that you were dead. I'll never love you then at all The way I do today. So please remember, When I leave in December, I told you so in May. Tom Lehrer edit: add link
