When first I used this board, I would sign in once and thereafter, every time I would return to the board, I would still be signed in. Recently, this convenience has disappeared and I must log in every time I access the board. Worse, I get kicked out during a session. It just suddently changes from "Welcome Father Steve" to "You have no posting privileges here, cowboy, unless, of course you sign in." Sometimes I have to do this two or even three times in a session. Anybody else?

Well, well: in My Home, there is a Maintenance section, and one of its subcategories is Cookies. With fear and trepidation, I clicked on it, and was presented with a big chart, nothing of which made the slightest sense to me except for my name and the word Password. Below that, however, there was this: Expiring (deleting) your board's cookies might be useful if you suspect that they are damaged and the board is malfunctioning.
Expiring these cookies will do NO harm at all but it will log you out of the board. Once you login and start using the board again new cookies will be set automatically. HTH.

Woofy sez (in another thread): "Had to sign on again, although I don't recall logging out since yesterday."
That's (part of) what I'm talkin' about. Any others?

Not on this board, though I used to have the same problem on the old one.
However for the first time, when trying to submit my reply using the Quick Reply in this very thread I received the following message:

Somehow, somewhere in the computer cosmos, somebody (Anu?) threw a switch and this problem -- the being-signed-out-every-time-I-return-to-the-board-and-getting-involuntarily-signed-out-several-times-per-session problem-- has been remedied. If I knew who to thank, I would.

Your ignorance is within your particular denomination, Father Steve. We of the foot-washing, snake-handling, southern Baptist, persuasion always know who to thank. Ask yourself; from whence do all good tidings come?
Hint: It ain't Anu.

Milo:
I'll bet that's a question Fr. Steve will NEVER ask himself.
Ever.
